NATIONAL ATSI BASKETBALL COMPETITION RULES
Basketballs
- Size 7 Basketballs will be used for the men’s competition
- Size 6 Basketballs will be used for the women’s competition
- Size 5 Basketballs will be used for the junior divisions – U16, U14
- Size 7 Basketballs will be used for the U18 divisions
Timing
- Warm up will be 10 minutes
- Playing Time will be 2 x 20-minute halves
- Half time will be 5 minutes
- Extra periods in lieu of drawn games will be 5 minutes
In special circumstances the organizing committee may authorize the reduction of the warmup and half-time intervals.
Team Standings
All games will be played to a result, i.e., no drawn games
Point Allocation
Points will be allocated to teams according to their win- loss record:
- 2 points for a win
- 1 point for a loss
- 0 points for a loss on forfeit (non-appearance)
Equal points, count back procedure
2 Teams: result of the game between the two teams will be used to determine their placing.
More than 2 teams: results of the games between the teams that are tied will only be used to determine the placing.
If more than 2 teams are still tied, then goal average will be used to determine the placing considering only the games played between the tied teams.
This is decided by:
Points for ÷ Points against = Goal Average
